Our History
Formerly known as Ballroom Philadelphia in South Philly, Brandi owned a cute studio in which she and her husband taught until 2020. Upon the arrival of Covid, the doors unfortunately closed. Shortly after the loss of their business Brandi sustained a significant bicycle injury which has required ongoing treatment. With gratitude and persistence, she is feeling well enough to rekindle the fire for teaching and dancing! Additionally she has redeveloped a brick and mortar studio as part of her home in East Falls. It has long been a dream to create this studio as part of her home. All this to say, we hope you will feel the cozy vibes and easy energy that Brandi has to offer.

“My boyfriend and I have talked about taking dance lessons for nearly 4 years now. When he realized I was serious about making it happen, he searched Yelp to make sure we chose the best place. One other time we attempted to take dance lessons, I was treated terribly by another student in the class, so when I saw that Ballroom Philadelphia had a policy of "No giving pointers to your partner," I was sold. We started with the intro package, and then we went onto the wedding package (even though we were doing it for fun, not a wedding). Brandi and Vuthy have created a supportive and fun environment to learn dance! I've had fun every time, and I don't feel self conscious at all even when changing partners in the group classes. If, like me, you've been wanting to take dance lessons forever, you must go to Ballroom Philadelphia. I suggest you sign-up, like, um, yesterday.:”

“We took four or five dance lessons to prepare for our wedding, and we couldn't have asked for more. Both Brandi and Vuthy were wonderful to work with, did an excellent job of not snickering at our poor dance skills, and whipped us into great rumba shape by the time of our wedding... and the entire time we had a blast. People were very surprised at the wedding, and we have them to thank for it. Really, we couldn't have asked for more.”

“We've only had two lessons with Brandi but it's so much fun and we are so excited for more! We are doing a choreographed first dance for our wedding and learning some salsa as well. I will update with a new review after the wedding but I'm so glad we decided to do lessons and found ballroom Philadelphia!”

"Ballroom Philadelphia is as good as it gets. I've been taking lessons privately for the last four months and I couldn't ask for more. Taking dance lessons was something I'd thought about for a long time, but walking into a studio, solo, can be very intimidating. Now I kick myself for having not started sooner. My dancing has improved exponentially in a short amount of time, which I attribute to both Vuthy and Brandi's teaching styles.
I look forward to the classes all week. Brandi and Vuthy are not only awesome, but skilled, professional, and personable. Good vibes all around. Any nerves I had prior to lessons were instantly calmed when I walked into the studio. The studio itself is spacious and gorgeous.
I would 100% recommend Ballroom Philadelphia to anyone considering ballroom classes in the Philadelphia area...worth every penny." -

“I can’t say enough great things about Brandi and Vuthy. My husband and I are not dancers by any means and we had so much fun working on the first dance for our wedding reception with Brandi and Vuthy. They are so patient and really explained everything so well. We were impressed by how well we did and are so thankful we decided to take dance lessons so that we felt confident in front of our guests. I highly recommend taking classes with them for your first dance or just for fun. They are so great!”

"When I'm out on the dance floor, I generally look about as graceful as Jack Lemmon in heels (think "Some Like It Hot"). So when I first came across a Groupon deal for for Ballroom Philadelphia, I thought maybe - just maybe - with lessons, I could at least graduate to Tony Curtis.
Fast-forward to the intro class. Not only were the instructors friendly and patient (not to mention quite funny...I was pretty well sold the minute they used a "Lord of the Rings" reference to further illustrate a technique), but by the end of class I was having so much fun I found myself aiming for full-throttle Ginger Rogers.
Now that I'm coming to the point in time when the Groupon deal is about to run out, I've started thinking about private lessons. And I'll admit it, I spent a bit of time shopping around to make sure I'd be getting the best deal. Turns out, Ballroom Philadelphia also has the most reasonable price. And they were the only instructors I've worked with who DIDN'T try to fast-talk me into a more expensive program.
All around, I'd say it's the best place to get dance classes in Philly."
